The printer was designed to work in office environments that require a large number of prints, being able to cope with high printing requirements through its 45 pages-per-minute speed. It is able of duplex copying, laser printing, color scanning and high-speed faxing capabilities. Printing quality goes up to 1200 dpi effective output, and the color scans reach the 4800 dpi scanning resolution in enhanced mode.

Installing and maintenance is easily done through an LCD touch screen with "intuitive UI (user interface) design", making it easy to use even for non-IT personnel. The model has a space saving design that takes up 75% less space than other models in its class of products. Functions such as "Toner Save Mode" and "ID Card Copy" are embedded in this model, and help reduce toner usage and drive down costs.
