In December 2007, FCC approved Samsung SCH-T819 (or simply T819) and everyone believed the phone will come at T-Mobile. Now the beliefs are coming true, as the US carrier is ready to offer the new Samsung to its users starting this week.

The SCH-T819 is one of the few 3G-enabled phones to come from T-Mobile, along with Samsung T639 and the affordable Nokia 3555. Its approaching release is clearly a sign that the long-awaited 3G network from T-Mobile is finally ready to serve subscribers, although until now the carrier hasn't made any statement related to this matter.

Samsung SCH-T819 is a handset that stands somewhere in the mid to low-end category, offering (besides the 3G capabilities) basic features and a nice look, although nothing out of the ordinary. It has a slider design, unlike the other 3G Samsung phone form T-Mobile, which comes in a clamshell form. SCH-T819 weighs 100 grams and measures 101 x 51 x 12.7 mm - quite slim for a slider.

The list of Samsung SCH-T819's specs shows, as I already mentioned, pretty basic features: 1.3 Megapixel camera with video recording, MP3 player, Bluetooth, stereo speaker for enhanced audio experience, WAP browser, microSD card support for up to 2GB of extended memory, e-mail and instant messaging capabilities (Yahoo!, AIM, ICQ and Windows Live). The phone is also compatible with T-Mobile Address Book, the service that allows users to add and edit contact information on-line, as well as store and backup the info on T-Mobile's servers.

Samsung SCH-T819 will be available on-line, from the T-Mobile website as well as in the carrier's retail stores. The price of the phone is unknown yet, but, judging from the price of the other T-Mobile Samsung handsets that don't offer 3G, the SCH-T819 should come for about $100 with a 2-year contract agreement.
