14 DAY TRIAL // It's looking more and more as though the time of “normal” audio products is at an end. Regular speakers and speaker systems are still getting launched, sure, but “special” products like the new Samsung WAM750 seem to have overtaken them where media coverage is concerned.
WAM750 is the new Shape Wireless Audio Multiroom speaker system that Samsung put together, complete with support for Samsung Hub WAM250 and additional M7 speakers.
The newcomer can work just fine on its own, but when paired with those others, it will turn into a multi-room system.
It utilizes Foam Core Woofer, CNT pulp cone mid-range speakers and silk dome tweeters with advanced speaker enclosures.
"In today's homes, consumers are engaging with a multitude of devices for entertainment, including Smart TVs and smartphones," said Jim Kiczek, director of digital audio and video at Samsung Electronics America.
"The Samsung Shape M7 was designed to fit and work perfectly in the Samsung family of home entertainment products, offering simplicity, versatility and incredible sound, all accessed with a touch of a smartphone."
The Samsung Shape Wireless Audio Multiroom speaker system, this M7, can connect to smartphones directly, via Bluetooth (NFC is included for quick and easy pairing).
For all other gadgets, though, or even for those that prefer Wi-Fi over BT on phones, dual-band WiFi is included in the M7.
What's more, the speaker is compatible with Amazon Cloud Player, Pandora, Rhapsody, TuneIn Radio and various other apps. Music libraries stored on laptops, PCs, phones, tablets or whatever else can be accessed easily.
Then there's the shape, which Samsung chose because it lets the M7 sit in a corner without disturbing anyone. An optional wall mount kit can be bought for that actually, or you can just put it on a table and let it settle in as part of the décor.
Samsung Shape Wireless Audio Multiroom M7 will sell from October 13 for $399.99 / €399.99. The Samsung Hub will sell for $49.99 / €49.99.
