Samsung 226CW Widescreen LCD launched

Samsung Electronics launched the 226CW Widescreen LCD monitor especially aimed at high end gaming platforms. This LCD monitor, launched at the World Cyber Games event in Singapore, features impressive hardware capabilities like very high resolutions, vivid colors, high contrast ratio and fast response time.

"Our research has shown that image quality is the top attribute that is desired by every gamer and the Samsung 226CW Widescreen LCD Monitor has been developed with these gamers in mind," said Mr. Ng Long Shyang, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Telecommunications and IT products, in a press release, later cited by the news site HardwareZone. The latest Samsung LCD monitor for gamers and computer enthusiasts offers a maximum 1680 x 1050 resolution for the best image quality and a 2ms response time coupled with a high dynamic contract ratio of 3000:1. The 226CW monitor features an 18 percent improvement over the previous standard for LCD monitors, as the Samsung LCD panel (part of the Wide Color Gamut series that extends the red and green color spectrums) reaches 97 percent of the NTSC (National Television System Committee) color gamut for CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) displays. These color enhancements of the Samsung 226CW LCD Monitor together with a classy black finish and curved edges, make it perfect for gaming, home and office use.
