There is absolutely no information about exactly what the thing is though

Samsung has reportedly made the promise that its exhibition during this year's IFA trade show, taking place in Germany between August 31 and September 5, will include a “new luxury TV.”

We'd love to relay more information, but alas, the “new luxury TV” is all we have at the moment.

We suspect it will be a sort of super-resolution screen like the one from Eizo. Samsung is determined to stay tight-lipped, though.

Anyway, during the same event, there will be an update on the upcoming Super OLED TV line.

The launch date will be disclosed, as will the prices. Definitely a step up from the distinct lack of such info tidbits during CES 2012. Too bad we still have to wait for months.

Ah well, at least we know there is something to Intel's expectations that high-res panels will start replacing Full HD in 2013 (as if Full HD isn't already high itself).
