The tech giant has been awarded patents for the designs

We already know Samsung is working on a plethora of tablet devices to be unleashed next year. Four new slate models are expected to grace the market as soon as Q1, but that doesn’t translate into the Korean tech giant stopping there.

A new report coming from International Times in India (via Patentbolt) shows us just that. Apparently, Samsung has been awarded a few design patents which showcase some interesting products like a “differently curved smartphone,” but I’m not going to talk about that here.

Reportedly, Samsung has been granted two patents outlining new slate models. One of them details a tablet design with an oddly positioned home button. By the looks of it, Sammy is experimenting with a prototype that has the button situated in a corner position.

The second patent shows us another tablet, this time a product that will apparently come complete with a keyboard dock. So Samsung is planning to launch a 2-in-1 hybrid like other brand vendors out there such as ASUS, HP, or Sony.

I can't give you any more details about the slates at the moment, but I'll return to this when more information becomes available.

It’s pretty clear at this point that Samsung will not cease to amaze us in 2014 as it brings out more and more tablet models.
