Although Samsung has yet to announce the Galaxy S III, the smartphone makes headlines almost every day. Rumors are pouring in since January when everyone thought the Korean handset maker planned to announce the device at the Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona, which closed its doors on March 1.

According to the latest hearsay, Samsung would lunch the Galaxy S III sometime in April, but the company has yet to confirm any of these rumors.

Until we have more info on Samsung Galaxy S III, we can only speculate on the release date of the smartphone. In this regard, it appears that Samsung is readying for another important event, which is set to take place in Austin, Texas.

South by Southwest (SXSW) is a roster of events that includes SXSW Music, SXSW Film, SXSW Interactive, and SXSWedu. Many handset makers, including Samsung and Nokia prepare to attend to this trade fair that will kick off on March 9.

Samsung will showcase its latest Galaxy Note smartphone and will demonstrate the S Pen technology, which allows users to draw, sketch, crop photos or make notes using a stylus, among other things.

In addition, the S Pen provides gamers with a completely new experience, allowing for easy and more accurate control.

However, Samsung Galaxy Note won’t be the event’s main highlight, as the Korean company plans a “Special Announcement” on March 9, 4:00 p.m.

According to Samsung, on Friday, March 9 at 4:00 p.m. in the Samsung Blogger Lounge (Austin Convention Center, room 19AB), the company will make a special announcement.

No other details are provided for the moment, but Samsung promises that more info will be released soon.

We doubt that Samsung will launch its Galaxy S III at the SXSW exhibition on March 9, as the company already confirmed that its Android flagship smartphone would have its own separate launch event. Still, everything is possible, so stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
