14 DAY TRIAL // After seeing the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge launch a few months ago, Samsung enthusiasts are now hotly anticipating the company’s next best thing, the Galaxy Note 5.
We’ve been hearing rumors that the phablet might arrive in the wild sooner than expected, but recently Samsung’s CEO itself refuted these claims. So we had to assume Sammy will stick to last year’s plan and unveil the Galaxy Note 5 at IFA 2015 in Berlin this September.
Well, today we get yet another piece of info which indicates this will indeed be the case. Talking to Bloomberg, the company’s Executive Vice President Rhee in Jong has said that the company’s mobile paying system, Samsung Pay will be delayed.
So instead of looking at a July launch, things have been moved towards a September debut. Jong also goes on to say that the service will be employed by Samsung on the next Galaxy Note device, which is obviously the Galaxy Note 5.
Hence, it’s becoming clearer that the Galaxy Note 5 will indeed see the light of day during the IFA 2015 tradeshow in Berlin.
Samsung Pay won't be available only on premium products
Samsung also mentions that Samsung Pay will be made available on devices other than the high-end models.
“The key is how fast Samsung will be able to expand the service to lower-end devices.”
The Korean tech giant has high hopes for its mobile paying service, expecting to see between 15% and 20% of smartphone users give Samsung Pay a go.
As for the Galaxy Note 5, we expect the phablet to arrive with either a 4K or a 2K panel onboard. Samsung has been said to be testing both versions, but we have to admit a phone with a 3,840 x 2,160 pixel resolution and 762ppi sounds a little bit over the top.
The phone should make a debut into the wild bundling Samsung’s own in-house Exynos chips, but at the moment we don’t know exactly which. Word on the street has pointed out the Exynos 7430 or the Exynos 7422, which is poised to be the company’s first ever all-in-one solution (ePoP) that will combine CPU, GPU, RAM, storage and modem on a single chip.
