Samsung joined forces with broadband provider Vongo to give P2 series users access to video content directly from the media players.

I guess there is no need to remind you about the popularity of the P2 series of PMPs. The devices come equipped with 3-inch touch screen displays, which is great size for watching movies, as well as listening to music and viewing pictures. According to Samsung, the addition of Vongo to Samsung's portable media ecosystem offers P2 users the "MPfreedom" to choose from an impressive variety of titles.

"With the addition of Vongo into Samsung's extensive portable media ecosystem supporting the P2, consumers now have more choices than ever in accessing their favorite movies and TV shows to enjoy on the go. By partnering with leading video content providers such as Vongo, Samsung continues to open up a world of entertainment for consumers to explore through their portable media player," Reid Sullivan, vice president of Digital Audio and Video Marketing at Samsung Electronics America, stated.

The P2 series seems to be an excellent choice, as the player offers its owners the chance to use an elegant full touch screen GUI that reacts to gestures using EmoTune, an input system that allows the finger to control player functions not only by tapping selection, but also by sliding a finger across the screen.

"Samsung is a world leader in consumer video technology and the company's P2 is a welcome addition to our growing roster of compatible and Vongo-certified video players. As more consumers demand access to downloadable movies and video content through their portable media players, Vongo and Samsung are committed to making that process simple, easy and fun," Joe Cantwell, vice president, marketing, advanced services, for Starz Entertainment, said.

If you're among the P2 owners, you will be able to begin using Vongo's subscription-based download services for a monthly cost of $9.99.
