Rumors on the upcoming white-themed Galaxy Nexus have come and gone, but no official word has emerged until today. The Korean handset manufacturer officially confirmed the launch of the white Galaxy Nexus in the UK.

Both 16GB and 32GB versions of the smartphone will be available for purchase starting February 13, but no details on their prices have been unveiled yet.

Customers who wish to purchase this version of Galaxy Nexus should know that only the back cover is white, while the front part of the phone is still black.

The rest of the specs are similar with the GSM version of Galaxy Nexus, so expect the same incredible 4.65-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with oleophobic coating and 720 x 1280 pixels resolution.

Currently, the white Galaxy Nexus is not available for pre-order from any UK-based retailers, but once Samsung confirmed the launch of the smartphone, we should expect most leading retailers in the country will soon offer this one.

The first phone to be shipped with Android 4.0 on board, Samsung Galaxy Nexus is powered by a dual-core TI OMAP 4460 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, which is complemented by a PowerVR SGX540 graphics processing unit.

Although the phone does not come with a microSD card slot for memory expansion, users will have around 16GB / 32GB of internal memory at their disposal, along with 1GB of RAM.

After much speculation, we are pleased to announce the availability of the Galaxy Nexus White which follows the great reception the phone has received since it was launched back in November.

One of the things we at Samsung pride ourselves on is the choice we offer customers, and we've enjoyed huge success to date by introducing white variants of our most popular models to our product portfolio,” said Simon Stanford, UK & IRE Telecommunications & Networks Division.
