Coming to expand an already extensive lineup of consumer and professional cameras, the NX200 is Samsung's newest, compact DSLR model capable of snapping high-speed continuous shots in high-quality.

Samsung did not exactly put much effort into making the NX200 affordable.

Not that it boosted its price unnecessarily of course, but, nonetheless, the price tag of S$1,099 (US$863) is not exactly easy on the bank account.

People who do have the funds for it will definitely see their money's worth though.

The primary asset of the NX200 is the 20.3-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, which can both snap high-quality photos and record Full HD video.

In fact, with the Fast Boot and seven frames per second continuous shooting mode, professionals should be more than satisfied (100ms Advanced AF Speed is possible).

Another asset that Samsung implemented is the panorama function, which lengthens the shots of large objects and/or converts an image into 3D.

This can potentially render images more lifelike, an effect that can be further enhanced by the possibility to record sound to a still image.

Furthermore, the i-Function 2.0 lenses (18-200mm, 16mm, 60mm and 85mm focal lengths) are compatible with the camera, allowing for advanced control on lens parameters, complete focus and easy toggling between shutter speed and aperture, EV, WB and ISO.

Finally, the i-Function provides control over the intelli-Zoom function during Lens Priority Mode and also over six different Smart Filters.

Samsung was very informative when it posted the product page of this newest device. Located here, it has all the information prospective customers would ever think to look for, and even some details they won't.

The NX200 may turn into one of Samsung's more fortunate projects if things go as planned. The company could arguably use this type of positive episode now that other business outlets are proving so troublesome.
