If you have been looking to get yourself one of those small-sized, low-power computer systems known as netbook, you might have stumbled upon the 10-inch Samsung NC10 netbook in your search for the best offering. This is one of the most appreciated systems out there, as it can provide users with basically the same features as most netbooks in its class, but with a noteworthy battery life. On that note, it appears that Samsung has decided to provide its customers with another edition of its successful NC10 netbook, one that is said to further increase the battery performance.

As some of you already know, the NC10 has been designed on Intel's netbook Atom platform, featuring the computing performance of a single-core Atom N270 1.6GHz CPU. As with most netbooks on the market built on the same platform, the NC10 can support up to 1GB of DDR2 RAM memory, offering a storage of 160GB on a hard drive solution. The system's 10.1-inch LCD is powered by Intel's GMA 950 integrated graphics solution, as with most netbooks currently available on the market.

The difference with the new “Special Edition” NC10 netbook from Samsung is that it provides a 6-cell battery and a larger touchpad. This enables the end-user to take advantage of a better interaction tool, and a longer working time. Apparently, the larger capacity 6-cell battery should enable the netbook to provide its users with up to 9.4 hours of working time. While such claims are yet to be confirmed, we do know that Samsung's initial NC10 netbook model is capable of delivering an impressive battery performance, when compared to its competitors.

All that aside, you should be able to purchase the new Samsung NC10 netbook for $499 when it becomes available. Until that time, be sure to place your pre-order at Amazon.com, where the netbook has been listed.
