Samsung America has announced today the introduction of its latest additions to the netbook market, the new N110 and N120 netbooks. Designed to provide users with a 10-inch display and the computing power of Intel's successful Atom platform, the new N110 and N120 come with an MSRP of US$469 and US$459 and are currently available via the company's website and various online retailers. The new systems have already been announced by Samsung earlier this year, but they have just made their way to the States.

“Our mini notebooks represent Samsung’s desire to offer high quality, mobile focused solutions that create user value with important features such as design, ergonomics and battery life,” said J.H. Kim, president of Samsung Electronics America’s Information Technology Division. “With the addition of the N110 and N120, we have expanded our lineup with enhanced battery life, multi-media speakers and a larger keyboard and touchpad. These key features will satisfy the needs of users looking for audio video capabilities, while also supporting the road warriors needing extended battery life.”

Both systems are built using the Intel Atom 1.6GHz N270 processor, coupled with 1GB of DDR2 memory and a larger capacity 160GB 5400RPM SATA hard drive. The integrated graphics power the system's 10.1-inch WSVGA Backlit display, offering a maximum resolution of 1024 by 600 pixels. Additional features include wireless 802.11 b/g and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, a 3-in-1 card reader, a 1.3MP webcam and the usual array of ports, including three USB 2.0, one VGA Out, Headphone-out/Mic-in and Microsoft's Windows XP operating system.

The N110 is featured with a 6-cell battery that can deliver up to 9 hours of use, while the N120's battery pack is only good for about 6 hours. The N120 is slightly larger than the N110 and also comes with a 97% full-size keyboard and 3W stereo speakers.
