Samsung feels free to boast on settling a new record with LCD monitors. The company introduced at the IFA 2005 event its two latest models, SyncMaster 770P and SyncMaster 790P, both displaying Pivot and Svivel function.

The star of the presentation was the 17 inch SyncMaster 770P, which features, besides 280 cd/mp brightness, an impressive 1500:1 contrast ratio. The 19-inch "brother" settles for a "modest" 1000:1 contrast ratio and 250 cd/mp brightness. Both of them have D-SUB and DVI connecters.

Furthermore, they deliver 6 milliseconds response time and a 178' visibility angle. I guess that makes the prices of 444 and 649 Euro perfectly understandable.

And something that might upset some people: Samsung has redrawn the control buttons, but there is a Windows application to make the image adjustments.

According to Samsung officials, both models will be available for sale starting October 2005.
