Samsung Moment is the second mobile phone that reaches Sprint's airwaves with Google's Android operating system on board. The handset was announced as coming to the shelves a while ago, and now Android phone fans that are also Sprint customers can enjoy the features and capabilities of this handset.

What it can deliver to any enthusiast out there includes a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, an attractive AMOLED touchscreen display, a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper with flash and video recording capabilities, access to a wide range of applications via the Android market, multiple customizable screens, and a great deal of Google services, including Google Search, Gmail, Google Maps, or YouTube.

The price tag of this Android mobile phone has been set at $179.99 upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the carrier and after a $100 mail-in rebate, rising the total cost to $279.99. The handset seems to be quite attractive, and Sprint fans will certainly go for it, though we're not so sure whether others will do the same, when looking at other Android-based handhelds available in the country at almost the same price tag as the Samsung Moment.

For what it's worth, there might be something more than meets the eye with this device, especially since Sprint already announced its commitment to offer a great user experience to all those who embrace Android on its airwaves, no matter if end-users or developers. The carrier is set to help those building applications for the Google operating system, and some of you might have heard that it is also set to kick off carrier billing for the Android Market.

One certain thing here is that United States mobile phone users will have a wide range of Android-based mobile phones to choose from before the end of the ongoing year. Google's OS is gaining more and more ground on the market, and it is certainly helped a lot by the hardware specifications the devices running under it come towards users with.
