A match made in UK heaven

Nothing sells better than a girl in a scantily outfit. How about five sexy girls with a singing career? Samsung got the picture and has come to an agreement with Girls Aloud in order to better promote their products.

Samsung aims especially at MP3 player and mobile phone users, as they are most probable to respond to this marketing flick. Moreover, they aim at the younger audience, more general than the fans of Girls Aloud, where music devices are highly appreciated.

It's clear that Girls Aloud will especially promote devices from Samsung which are capable of rendering music files. Exactly how that is going to happen and which will be the products benefiting from such attention, the company has not specified.

"Universal Music has developed an unrivalled reputation for being both forward thinking and the UK's leading music label. To help take our music brand strategy to the next level, we wanted to work with an artist that could give us instant access to millions of homes in the UK and would also give us credibility with those audiences", said Anthony Marsella, Chief Marketing Officer.

Samsung has somewhat of a history with Girls Aloud. They have sponsored the concert that the girls held in Dublin as part of their Greatest Hits Tour. That seems to have worked great for both sides, as they now plan on taking their collaboration one step even further.

Samsung has signed the agreement earlier this month with Polydor Records, a subsidiary of Universal Music UK. It will involve marketing, promotional, product-branding opportunities and online ones as well.

The girls will also have to benefit from this deal. Samsung will make the band's song available on Samsung's Fun Club Web site. It sounds like a promising commitment, as this Fun Club currently holds 2 million subscribers at a worldwide level.
