As expected, Samsung officially introduced in India three new budget-friendly smartphones that were unveiled last month, the Galaxy Ace NXT, Galaxy Star Advance and Galaxy Star 2.

Customers in India will be pleased to know all three smartphones have been priced under Rs 8,000 ($130 / €100), which makes them quite decent alternatives to other smartphones in the same price range launched by native OEMs.

The most expensive of the free are the Samsung Galaxy Ace NXT and Galaxy Star Advance, so expect these handsets to come with better features than the Galaxy Star 2.

Furthermore, AndroidOS reports that Samsung India has teamed up with local carrier Vodafone to offer those who purchase any of the three smartphones no less than 200MB of free data for six months.

Potential customers should know that all three budget-friendly smartphones will ship with the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system out of the box and the new TouchWiz UI for entry-level smartphones.

The Galaxy Ace NXT sports a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution and packs a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, which is complemented by 512MB of RAM. It also comes with a 3-megapixel rear-facing camera, 3G connectivity, dual-SIM support and 1500 mAh battery.

According to Samsung, the Galaxy Ace NXT will be available for purchase in India beginning this week for only Rs 7,400 ($120 / €90) outright.

Next in line, the Galaxy Star Advance features a slightly larger 4.3-inch display, a similar 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 512MB of RAM. It also offers dual-SIM capability, along with a 3-megapixel main camera and an 1800 mAh battery. Samsung Galaxy Star Advance will be available for purchase for Rs 7,400 ($120 / €90).

Last but not least, the cheapest of the three budget-friendly handsets, Galaxy Star 2, has a small 3.5-inch display, a 2-megapixel photo snapper and a 1300 mAh battery.

The smartphone features dual-SIM capability, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as a 1GHz single core processor. The Galaxy Star 2 has been priced at only Rs 5,100 ($85 / €60).

“Samsung is committed to offer the best in technology and innovative products at an affordable price to the consumers. We believe in cutting across language and data cost barriers to ensure every consumer has access to the world of smartphones.

“Especially created for the Indian market Galaxy Star 2, Galaxy Star Advance and Galaxy Ace NXT have been launched to provide a larger set of consumers with the experience of superior mobile technologies and richer internet experience at an affordable price,” said Asim Warsi, Vice President, Marketing, Mobile & IT at Samsung India.
