It supports all common functions, plus Split-Shot and 3D photos, among other things

It has been a couple of months since we first wrote about the DV300F camera that Samsung created, and it is now ready to ship globally, according to an announcement made in South Korea.

The DV300F is an item that we first learned about at the time of this year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2012).

It wasn't available for order then, but the company has definitely not been idle.

In fact, people may get lucky and run into the product during their browsing of online retailers, or so the latest word on the matter says.

For those who don't remember, the DV300F camera is fairly unique not only due to its support for Wi-Fi, but also to its two displays.

That's right, in addition to the 3-inch LCD at the back, it boasts a 1.5-inch LCD on the front, which allows people to more easily take self-portrait shots.

The price of the camera (in black or purple) is 299,000 won, which translates into $265.81 and 200.90 Euro, according to exchange rates.

As some may have surmised, just the existence of a second display is not enough to justify such a price tag.

Couple that with the fact that Samsung wouldn't bother adding a second panel on just any camera and it becomes obvious that the DV300F is better than average, at the very least.

Sure enough, the sensor can snap images of up to 16 megapixel quality and relies on a 25mm wide-angle lens with 5X optical zoom to cover a large field of vision, so to speak.

The company also tossed in 720p HD videos recording and the ability to stream them, as well as photos, to HDTVs via AllShare Play, using the integrated Wi-Fi wireless support.

Not only that, but owners get to enhance their photos using the Smart Auto, Live Panorama, Jump Shot 2.0, Children Mode, Split-Shot, Artistic Brush and 3D photo modes.

Finally, the Mobile Link feature enables owners to use smartphones as viewfinders (requires the Remote Viewfinder app) and even backup to Microsoft’s SkyDive.
