Samsung Katalyst will be available at T-Mobile starting this December. The phone features rather average capabilities, with nothing worthy of standing out, although a good price might arouse the interest of many people.

The slider form factor almost comes by default with Samsung mobile phones and the Katalyst handset is one of the most average ones to come. It comes in a light gray color that does it no favor and features a classic design that comes with little variations with other phone models coming from this producer.

The slider brings some of the most average performances, starting with the 1.3 megapixel camera. This will manage to provide only basic quality captures and nothing more. One important feature will be that of WiFi and mobile calling, along with instant messaging. Moreover, the phone will include Bluetooth connectivity and also allow picture and video messaging, all for enhanced communication.

Samsung Katalyst will come in some fairly small sizes, especially when considering the fact that it's a slider. At 101 x 50 x 17 mm and 116 grams, it will be suitable mostly for those who like to have a device that they can really feel in their hand, rather than a slim one. The display screen is one of the poorest out there, at a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels. Moreover, the 5MB of internal memory is supported by a microSD card, one feature that most evolved handsets now include.

Aside from these features, Samsung Katalyst has little to bring. It sounds like just the right phone for those who are interested only in communicating and less in making the best of latest mobile technology. Neither the carrier, nor the producer revealed any details on the phone's future release.
