Using the UbiSync technology, several monitors can connect to a USB port

Samsung just announced the launch of a new computer LCD monitor that is aimed at users needing or desiring to set up a multi display configuration, while using the latest available technology and experiencing the stunning visuals that are delivered by a state of the art display.

Available under the commercial designation of 940UX, the new Samsung LCD monitor provides a new alternative to using the conventional video input and according to the news site electronista, the 940UX can connect to a host computer system using a standard high speed USB 2.0 port.

Moreover, the new Samsung LCD computer monitor needs no graphics hardware inside the host system in order to operate and the manufacturing company claims that even a mobile computer system will be able to handle as many as six such monitors, providing that it has enough processing power and enough free USB ports. In order to be able to connect to just any computer system, the Samsung 940UX also comes with a classic VGA connectors as well as a DVI one that allows it to be used without any performance penalty.

Featuring a 19 inch widescreen display, this new monitor is well suited for all kinds of users, including professional ones, that may find its multi-display USB powered traits very handy, as well as its high native resolution of 1280 by 1024 pixels and the 700:1 dynamic contrast ratio.

The Samsung 940UX is compatible with both the PC and the Mac hardware platforms, when used with a standard DVI or VGA connection, but its USB mode is only available for computers running Microsoft Windows XP. According to Samsung, the display is pivotable in order to be easily handled and it should hit the market while carrying a price tag of around $379.
