The company readies Galaxy Tab DUOS 7.0 and Tab 8.0

The 11-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 11 and Nexus 11 tablets will be the stars of the high-end tablet segment this year, as far as Samsung devices go, but they are just half the strategy.

There are two other slates that will arrive at some point this year, we aren't sure exactly when. SamMobile has only said they will come out in 2013.

The first tablet is called Galaxy Tab DUOS 7.0 and has a 7-inch display (PLS LCD) with a native resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels.

It also uses a micro SD card that provides it with 32 GB of storage space. For tablets, this is somewhere on the high side.

An unidentified dual-core CPU runs it, probably an Exynos like on the Tab 11.

Speaking of dual designs, the tablet also has dual-SIM support. As if it isn't unusual enough for a slate to have voice call capabilities, this one can use two cards at once, allowing owners to communicate through two phone carriers at the same time.

Furthermore, the Tab DUOS 7.0 has two cameras: one of 3 megapixels at the back and one of 2 megapixels at the front.

The Galaxy Tab 8.0 obviously measures 8 inches in diagonal. What might not be so obvious is the screen type: Samsung chose AMOLED (1080p) instead of LCD here. Presumably, the AMOLED burning problem will be resolved before this tablet's arrival.

A quad-core Exynos 4421 CPU runs the slate, including the 64 GB of integrated storage and two cameras (5 megapixels back, 2 megapixels front).

We don't have any pricing information or ETA (estimated time of arrival) for the tablets, or related to what version of Android they'll run. Samsung may go out of its way to give them Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, but this is nothing more than random speculation now.
