Samsung has been rumored to be working on AMOLED screen months before 2014 and some of us were disappointed not seeing anything relating to the category at CES 2014. But a new report coming from the Korean media says Samsung Display is ready to start production of 8 to 10-inch AMOLED panels in February/March 2014.

The Mobile World Congress is just around the corner and Samsung is expected to wow the smartphone market with its highly anticipated Galaxy S5 handset.

This week, during the Display Technology Roadmap Seminar 2014, held by the South Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Sammy pulled the cat out of the bag and has admitted it is working on an AMOLED QHD smartphone.

But the interesting part comes now. According to a report coming via Etnews, Sammy is not only ready to produce S5 panels, but it is also gearing up to start mass production of 8-10 inch AMOLED panels in February/March 2014. Nevertheless, we’re not given any specifications about the resolution of display technology (OLED/LCD).

The AMOLED panel to be introduced in the upcoming smartphones will reportedly come sporting an incredible UHD resolution (3480 x 2160 pixels) with a whopping 820ppi.

According to recent developments, Samsung will probably be ready to unleash AMOLED display tablets in the next few months (up to three models).

Not so long ago we saw three new tablet models, SM-T530, SM-T535 and SM-T531, two of which featured an 8-inch display, while the latter had a 10-inch panel, show up on Indian import-export site Zauba.

Back then it was speculated these were the long-awaited AMOLED screen tablet models we have all been waiting for eagerly.

This was taken as an indication that the devices are close to being launched, as the new tablet models have reportedly been sent to the country for testing purposes. Stay tuned while more information becomes available.
