It appears that a certain tablet will start to expand its horizons starting about one and a half months from now, or so a recent press release from Samsung states about the Galaxy Tab 10.1.

When it comes to the tablet market, there is already quite the product variety waiting for prospective buyers.

It looks like not a day goes by without at least a few mentions of older or newer slates, with both official and unofficial reports or announcements showing up on a regular basis.

One of the slates under most scrutiny recently is the Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1, no doubt due to the fact that it has been selling for a relatively short period of time.

On the other hand, the product hasn't yet reached worldwide availability, although there at least seems to be some clarity as to when the next step in that direction will be taken.

Apparently, it is on August 4, 2011 that the UK will finally start to ship the device, both WiFi and 3G versions.

"The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is the latest example of Samsung's ongoing innovation in this market and commitment to the Android platform,” said Simon Stanford, Managing Director, Mobile, Samsung UK and Ireland.

“Our Galaxy family all feature a premium design, excellent screens and are packed with compelling entertainment features. We plan to deliver exciting new user experiences and lead the tablet market in the months and years to come."

The company has also brought it to the world's attention that it is going to release a new tablet soon, the Galaxy Tab 8.9 (obviously 8.9 inches in screen size). UK will get it later this year.

Unfortunately, while the US price of $499 is already known, just how much either of the two mobile electronics will cost in the UK remains a mystery.
