14 DAY TRIAL // Samsung's mid-range Android smartphone, Galaxy W (Wonder) has just been introduced it Taiwan. The handset is available for a suggested retail price of NT$10,900 (about $360 or 265 EUR) outright, but it may be priced cheaper when purchased with a contract.
According to the guys over at SammyHub, customers who purchase the Galaxy W before November 30 will also receive a Papago navigation software, a bracelet, as well as the chance to attend to various Samsung parties.
Officially announced in August, Samsung Galaxy W is expected to arrive in more countries in October.
In this regard, the phone has just been spotted at FCC (Federal Communication Commission) with AWS bands, which might indicate the Galaxy W is slated for a T-Mobile USA release in the next few weeks.
Software-wise, Samsung Galaxy W is powered by Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform with Adobe flash support and full access to third-party apps via Android Market, including Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Calendar, and Google Talk.
The smartphone comes with a large 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors support and 480 x 800 pixels resolution, along with accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate and proximity sensor for auto turn-off.
In addition, Galaxy W is equipped with a 1.4 GHz single core Qualcomm MSM8255T Snapdragon processor and an Adreno 205 graphics processing unit for an immersive gaming experience.
The device packs 512 MB of RAM, 2 GB of ROM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).
It also sports a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash, face detection and HD (720p) video recording capabilities, as well as a secondary VGA front facing camera.
The Galaxy W offers a range of connectivity options, including HSDPA and HSUPA support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth connectivity, Wi-Fi hotspot capability and GPS with A-GPS support.
