So far, we don’t have any details on how Samsung plans to sell the slates in the US

A couple of days ago, Samsung unveiled its line of budget Galaxy Tab4 tablets, but the tech giant didn't say anything about how much the products were going to cost. It only mentioned that the new devices would ship out starting Q2 2014.

But the slates have already shown up for pre-order on the website of one European retailer, complete with pricing specifications, so we can get an idea of how expensive they are.

The listing on Tablet Center shows us that Samsung will be launching the Wi-Fi models of the Galaxy Tab4 7.0 and 10.1 at the same time and that they will start shipping out to customers in early May. The 8-inch model and the 4G version of the tablets will be made available starting June in Europe.

The 7-inch Wi-Fi model will be selling for €199.99 / $275, while the standard 8-incher will cost €269.99 / $371. On the other hand, the 3G/4G will sell for €389.99 / $537. Last but not least, the Wi-Fi only 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab comes at a price of €349.99 / $482 and €469.99 / $648 if we’re talking about the 3G/4G model.

We were hoping that Samsung would be pricing the slates more affordably, given the fact that they don’t pack the most amazing features. By comparison, the high-end Samsung Galaxy TabPRO 8.4 Wi-Fi sells for €389.99 / €537 at the same store.

Unlike these mid-range offerings, the Galaxy TabPRO comes with a beautiful quad-HD resolution (2560 x 1600) and 359ppi, making it a worthy competitor for the Retina Display iPad mini.

To refresh your memory, the Galaxy Tab4 comes with a 10.1-inch WXGA display (1280 x 800 pixels) and draws power from a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon. Samsung has added Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0 and USB 2.0 port.

In the photo department, we find two cameras (3MP on the back and 1.3MP in front), while the default operating system running on board is Android 4.4. KitKat. There’s a pretty hefty 6800 mAh battery keeping everything alive, so that should amount to a decent time spent on the tablet.

The middle tablet, the Galaxy Tab4 8.0 comes with an 8-inch display, but the resolution and most specs are quite similar to the larger model of the slate. The battery is smaller, being a 4450 mAh.

The smallest of the bunch, the Galaxy Tab4 7.0 has the same specs, but offers a choice between 8GB and 16GB in the internal storage department.

So given the above spec sheet, Samsung might have a problem getting customers to pay so much for one of these tablets.
