Samsung Galaxy Tab, the tablet PC that South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung brought to the market last year with Google's Android 2.2 Froyo operating system on board, is now available for purchase in Canada for only $549.99.

Only the Galaxy Tab flavor compatible with Bell's network has seen the price cut, but this still sounds like good news for enthusiasts, that's for sure.

Initially launched on the market with a price tag of $649.99 attached to it, the Bell Galaxy Tab can be purchased for $100 less from Best Buy, via a promotion that would last until January 27th, 2011.

“Small enough to fit in one hand, and yet large enough to bring your digital world to life, the Samsung Galaxy Tab redefines the smartphone experience,” one can read on the retailer's website.

“A large 7" display is your virtual window to apps, websites, videos, photos, contacts, social networks and more, while two cameras, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and A-GPS capabilities enhance your mobile style.”

The Samsung Galaxy Tab was the first tablet PC the mobile phone maker brought to the market with Google's android operating system on board.

Last week at CES in Las Vegas, the company also announced the launch of a Wi-Fi-only flavor of the tablet, as well as the upcoming availability of a LTE-capable version of the device.

For those who are not familiar with the Samsung Galaxy Tab, we should note that it offers users the possibility to: Touch the 7" display to navigate your entire world Connect with Bluetooth devices to make calls hands-free The Social Hub lets you see your contacts' texts, emails, and Facebook and Twitter updates on-screen and in real time Snap photos, record videos or make video calls with the rear-facing 3.2MP camera and 1.3MP front-facing camera Built-in Wi-Fi lets you access your online world wherever a wireless network exists Find your way around town with A-GPS capabilities Access the Android Market to customize your device with great apps
