This week, Samsung is present at the Southwest Asia Forum 2014, so the Korean tech giant has taken the opportunity to announce the new Galaxy Tab Neo 3 for the Indian market.

If this tablet seems to be unfamiliar to you, it’s because this is actually the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite 7.0 renamed to be sold in India.

Basically, we have a mid-range tablet, which comes at a rather high price for what it has to offer. But I guess Samsung attaching its name to it might make it worth-while for some customers.

As FoneArena notes, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Neo will become available for sale soon for Rs. 16, 490 / $266 / €194. For this money you’ll be getting a bland 7-inch TFT capacitive touch screen display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels.

The tablet is powered up by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor in combination with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory (extendable up to 32GB via microSD card). In the connectivity department, there’s Wi-Fi b/g/n (2.4GHz), Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS + GLONASS and 3G HSPA+.

The Galaxy Neo 3 Tab runs only Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), while everything on the tablet is sustained by a 3600 mAh battery. Samsung has a decent track-record when it comes to performing software updates, so the Android 4.4 KitKat build my arrive on the tablet at some point.

If you think the tablet might be able to fulfill your needs in terms of tablet use, you should also note the device will come pre-loaded with a bunch of goodies, like Samsung ChatON, Dropbox, Polaris Office and Flipboard apps.

And if you’re a movie lover, even better because Samsung is also giving off the Club Samsung package which offers users access to a database of over 5000 movie titles, 4 Lakh songs and a choice of live channels.
