This is the first time Samsung uses a budget version of a Qualcomm SoC in a tablet

Last week, we saw the alleged specification of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 (code-named Millet) leak online.

Sammy will apparently be bundling the device with an improved 1.2 quad-core processor (as opposed to the Tab 3 8.0 which has a 1.5 dual-core), which was left unnamed by the source.

Judging by the fact that Samsung plans to extend its marketshare in AP department, the sensible thing to hypothesize about was whether we will see the tablet arrive with an Exynos on the inside.

Well, that theory seems to be wrong, as the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 has been spotted on the GFXBench website (via Tweakers), thus revealing some new info about its insides. Apparently, the device has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC on board.

Furthermore, from the filling it can be extrapolated that the tablet will come equipped with MSM8226, a Snapdragon 400 processor with four ARM Cortex A7 cores.

The slate is expected to come packing an 8-inch display with 1280 x 800 resolution and Android 4.4 KitKat. We will probably see the device pop up at MWC 2014 in Barcelona, along with the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 and 10.1.
