Should come this summer

One of the most popular cellphones that became available on the market this year is the Samsung Galaxy GT-I7500, the first handset the South Korean mobile phone maker launched under Google's Android operating system. The device is already available for purchase in several markets, featuring a black coat, and it seems that a new flavor might get ready to make its appearance.

This time around, however, the phone will come dressed up in white and, who knows, we might also have the opportunity to witness an “intergalactic” launch for the Galaxy. The images with the white iteration of the phone surfaced on The Unwired, which says that the new flavor should become available on the market as soon as this summer, sporting the same capabilities as the black variant.

Basically, this means that the white Galaxy will include quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA at 900/1700/2100 MHz, as well as Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, a built-in GPS receiver, a 3.5 mm headset jack, micro USB and Wi-Fi connectivity. The Android 1.5 platform (Cupcake) is also included in the package, as is an AMOLED 3.2-inch touchscreen boasting a 320 x 480 (HVGA) resolution and a 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus.

According to the rumors, the new white Samsung Galaxy should become available via O2 Germany at first, being set to land in other European countries as well in the near future. While that remains to be seen, one thing that seems to be certain at this time is that this white device is not the already rumored Samsung GT-I5700 Galaxy Lite. Anyway, more colors are never a bad thing, especially when we're talking about one of the greatest Android phones out there (the second in row after the HTC Hero, people say).
