14 DAY TRIAL // Samsung has already launched its flagships smartphones on the market and most Android users agree that they are a step into the right direction.
However, there are some peculiar things that haven't been cleared up by Samsung until recently. It looks like some Galaxy S6 owners have noticed that their smartphones have different camera sensors inside.
It's a common fact that Samsung has included a 16-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus, OIS (optical image stabilization), LED flash and 4K video recording.
Still, there was no mention on the sensor inside the camera and everyone assumed that it should be an ISOCELL sensor made by Samsung.
Quality-wise, the sensors should be the same
And that's what many Galaxy S6 smartphones are reporting when typing the right code to see the camera's specs. Still, it looks like there are other Galaxy S6 owners who claim that their smartphones are equipped with cameras that feature Sony's IMX240 instead.
Now, this raises the question whether these sensors are the same when it comes to performance and quality. In fact, this kind of stirred the hornet’s nest since Samsung Galaxy S6 owners are now arguing that Sony IMX240 camera produces better pictures.
The ISOCELL camera has its supporters as well, but the question is why Samsung did that and if they did it on purpose. Well, we believe that the South Korean company will never offer a straight answer to this question, but here is its official statement nevertheless:
“The Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge utilize camera sensors from several different vendors. Like all of the technology used in our products, they meet our strict global quality and performance standards.”
So there you have it folks, it looks like it's just a matter of marketing and the fact that you have one or the other sensor inside your phone's camera shouldn't affect the Galaxy S6's performance.
