Samsung has already released Android 5.0 Lollipop for its previous flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S5, in many countries. However, the improved version of the device, the Galaxy S5 Plus has been skipped from the initial rollout of the upgrade.

Also known as Samsung SM-G901F, the Galaxy S5 Plus has been released back in November with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box, though Google had released Lollipop for one month.

Apart from the chipset inside, which has been upgraded from Snapdragon 801 to Snapdragon 805, the enhanced version of Galaxy S5 also packs LTE Advanced support (300/50Mbps), as opposed to LTE Cat.4 (150/50Mbps).

There are no other differences between the two Galaxy S5 smartphones, so Samsung wanted to monetize on the improved mobile data speeds and slightly more powerful processor inside the Plus version.

The bad news is that those who went for Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus had to wait several more weeks for Android 5.0 Lollipop to arrive on their smartphones and will have to wait even more of Android 5.1, which is the latest version of the OS.

Samsung deploys Android 5.0.2 Lollipop in five countries

Anyway, according to SamMobile, Android 5.0 Lollipop update is now rolling out to Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus devices in the Nordic countries: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.

Obviously, the rollout will expand globally in the coming days, but for now it's only available in these five European countries.

As mentioned by the cited source, Galaxy S5 Plus devices in the Nordic region are getting Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, which is a small bump over the version now available to standard Galaxy S5 phones.

So, if you own the Galaxy S5 Plus, you might want to check for the OTA (over the air) update, but make sure your phone's battery is at least half charged prior to download and install.
