At CTIA Wireless 2010, South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics officially unveiled a new handset powered by Google's Android operating system, the Samsung Galaxy S, and it seems that the company is already considering a successor for the device. Moreover, rumor has it that it will come to the market as the Samsung Galaxy S Pro and that it will sport a QWERTY keyboard.

According to the rumors on the matter, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S Pro will include about the same specifications as the already unveiled Android-based handset. However, the full-QWERTY keypad will certainly make the difference between the two handsets. No details on when the device is set for an official announcement, or when exactly it lands on the market, but it still sounds interesting that Samsung is already working on a successor for the Galaxy S.

In case there are some of you yet unfamiliar with the specifications list of Samsung's latest Android-based mobile phone, we should mention the 4-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that boasts a WVGA resolution, as well as 1 GHz application processor, which reportedly delivers more graphical power than similar mobile solutions clocked in at the same speed.

The Samsung Galaxy S also comes to the market with a 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and video recording capabilities, as well as with Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n capabilities, USB v2.0, built-in A-GPS receiver, great multimedia features, 16GB / 8GB of internal memory, coupled with a memory card slot that supports memory cards of up to 32GB, a 1500 mAh battery, and the full range of sensors, not to mention Samsung's Social Hub, the company's new integrated messaging solution.

As stated above, there are no details available on when the new handset might land on the market, but that could happen a few good months after Galaxy S hits the shelves, so we're probably looking at late summer or early fall.
