Mobile phone carrier AT&T has just confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S III flagship smartphone would reach its stores as soon as July 6th.

The smartphone, officially unveiled for the United States market in early June, was initially expected to arrive at the wireless carrier before the end of the last month.

However, due to high demand on the international market, Samsung was forced to push back the phone’s release at some wireless carriers in the country.

AT&T was one of the affected operators but, following Galaxy S III’s landing at Sprint on Sunday, the carrier has finally confirmed an official launch date on its own network.

“Great news, the wait is finally over! I’m excited to share with you that the Samsung Galaxy S III will arrive in AT&T stores on July 6th,” AT&T’s Kari Tillman notes in a blog post.

Galaxy S III has been available for pre-order at AT&T for the past several weeks, and has seen impressive demand during this period, the carrier confirmed.

“Thousands of customers, who just couldn’t wait, have already preordered it and have the device in hand. The reviews are fantastic and now it will be available for same day purchase in AT&T company-owned retail stores and online with overnight shipping starting July 6,” Kari Tillman continues.

The smartphone can be seen on the wireless operator’s website on this page, and all those who would like to learn more info on its features and capabilities should head over there for that.

Packing a large 4.8-inch HD screen, the phone can deliver a great user experience, courtesy of its dual-core Snapdragon S4 application processor, complemented by 2GB of RAM.

It also features support for the operator’s LTE network, as well as WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS receiver. On the back, Galaxy S III sports an 8-megapixel photo snapper, with HD video recording capabilities, complemented by a 1.9MP front camera for video chatting.

“We know our customers already love the Galaxy S III and we’re thrilled that you will now be able to walk out of the store with the device in hand, ready to experience all the fabulous features and start sharing it with their friends,” Kari Tillman concluded.
