14 DAY TRIAL // Samsung is offering another free game to Galaxy S II owners after it did the same thing with the Asphalt 6 HD earlier this month.
However, this time it’s not a Gameloft game, instead Samsung offers one of EA’s highly-acclaimed game title from the Need for Speed franchise, the “Need for Speed Hot Pursuit.”
Unfortunately, the deal seems to be region-specific, so it’s not available in all countries. Anyway, it seems that most Europeans will be able to download the game for free via Samsung Apps Store.
The rest can either wait or try to use a workaround offered by the folks over at XDA Developers, which requires root and a third party application called Market Enabler.
Market Enabler allows users to access paid apps in Android Market that are only available in certain countries.
The application is available as a free download from Android Market and is compatible with all devices running Android 1.5 and up.
As we already mentioned this method requires root, so those with unrooted Galaxy S II may want to skip this one and purchase the game for a mere $6.99 (5.2 EUR).
Those with rooted Samsung Galaxy S II device probably know what they have to do to download the game for free.
Simply install the Market Enabler from Android Market, change the market region to one of the European countries that has the game available for download, open Samsung Apps Store and search for the game.
According to the latest reports, the game is currently available as a free download for Galaxy S II owners in Germany, Italy and UK, so choose one of these countries to make sure you will find the game for free.
Even though “Need for Speed Hot Pursuit” is compatible with other Android devices as well, for the moment Samsung’s deal on the game is only available for the Galaxy S II. Hopefully, this will be extend to other Galaxy family devices soon.
