The news that Samsung will launch two versions of Galaxy S 4 next month has not surprised anyone. In order to avoid component supply shortages for its upcoming flagship smartphone, the South Korean company has decided to release two models with different chipsets inside.

Samsung Galaxy S 4 will be equipped with an Exynos 5 Octa 5410 chipset, which packs two quad-core processors. This model is dubbed Samsung GT-I9500 and will be available in select markets where LTE services are not available.

The Exynos 5 Octa chipset accommodates one 1.6GHz quad-core processor that is meant to handle more stressful apps and games, and another 1.2GHz quad-core CPU for the everyday tasks that don’t require too much processing power.

It is also worth mentioning that the Exynos chipset features a powerful PowerVR SGX 544MP3 graphics processing unit prefect for the latest Android games.

The second model that will be available in select markets with LTE services available is Samsung GT-I9505. This particular version of Galaxy S 4 has been confirmed to arrive in the UK in later April, but it will also be available in Australia probably from all major carriers.

The GT-I9505 sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset, which packs a quad-core processor clocked at 1.9 GHz and an Adreno 320 graphics processing unit.

All in all, the Qualcomm-based Galaxy S 4 is likely to be released only in select markets where customers can benefit from LTE data speeds, while the Exynos-based Galaxy S 4 will be launched in those countries where 4G networks are still missing.

Obviously, there will be countries where both versions of the Samsung Galaxy S 4 will be available, but we doubt they will be released at the same time. So, if one or more carriers in your country offer 4G LTE services, then you will likely be able to get the Galaxy S 4 equipped with the Qualcomm chipset.
