The image only shows the upcoming Sammy tablet from the back

Yesterday I brought you news that Samsung’s purported 12.2-inch tablet might have been given a name. Sources coming out of Asia claim that the upcoming Sammy slate will be called the Galaxy Note Pro, basically an improved version of the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition.

We also saw an official render of the tablet, but now it appears that the device has been spotted in the wild already at some kind of electronics show, by Clien.net. Sadly we can see only the back, but at least you can get an idea of the tablet’s overall look.

The tablet has been in the news before, as not so long ago, it was spotted passing through the FCC and getting its Bluetooth SIG certification. But as of late, rumors about it have died down.

A while back, the specifications of the tablet leaked online, showing us that the slate will have a 12.2-inch screen with 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution and draw power from a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM.

The Samsung Galaxy Note Pro will apparently have 32GB of native storage and two cameras onboard (8MP as the frontal camera and 2MP on the back).

Android 4.3 was said to be the default operating system, but the Asian report says that Sammy will be shipping the product with Android 4.4 instead, which makes sense. On top of that, it mentions that the model will have a massive battery of 9500 mAh, guaranteed to keep your device running for a long time.

We expect to see the new device on show at CES in Las Vegas soon enough, as Samsung (among other manufacturers) has announced that it will be holding a press conference a day before the show starts. Sammy will lift the veil off a number of products, amongst which will be four new tablet models.
