Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 is getting updated to Android 4.4.2 KitKat in South Korea

We have known that Samsung was planning to roll out the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for its Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet for a while now, but we didn't have the exact dates.

Now, the first reports are coming in saying that the tablet is receiving the chocolaty KitKat OTA update in its home country, South Korea, via SamMobile.

The firmware version you should be looking for is M500MKXUBND9. Users who update to the new build will be able to enjoy all the KitKat features that were made available for other Samsung devices, including faster performance, white status bar icons, full-screen album art on the screen, the ability to print wirelessly and a bumped up battery life.

The update is currently live in South Korea, but more countries will be soon hit by it. If you’re anxious enough to get a taste of KitKat sweetness, you can download the build manually, as opposed to waiting for the new build to automatically arrive.
