Samsung is gearing up for the launch of some new large smartphones in the not-too-distant future, and rumor has it that it would release at least two of them as soon as the next month.

According to a recent article on ETNews, the company plans on launching the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo and Galaxy Grand 2 in South Korea next month, in an attempt to grab more of the local market.

Just as previously rumored, the handset will be released as a smaller, cheaper version of the Galaxy Note 3 that was launched in September last year.

The mobile phone is said to sport a 5.5-inch screen, while featuring a hexa-core processor inside (a 1.7GHz dual-core CPU for usual actions, and a 1.3GHz CPU set to kick in when more resource-dependent activities are performed).

The Galaxy Note 3 Neo is also said to sport 2GB of RAM inside, along with other downgraded hardware capabilities compared to the aforementioned Galaxy Note 3.

Apparently, Samsung will be targeting the mid-range market with this smartphone, though it appears that it hasn’t decided on its price tag as of now.

Galaxy Note 3 Neo is said to be Samsung’s response to LG’s G Pro 2 smartphone, which has been already confirmed to become official next month.

LG, however, is expected to pack the smartphone with a 6-inch touchscreen full HD display, as well as with 3GB of RAM inside. The phone will be released as the successor of last year’s Optimus G Pro.

As mentioned above, Samsung is also expected to bring the Galaxy Grand 2 to South Korea next month, after making the phone official in some other markets out there. The handset will become available through all three wireless carriers in the country.

However, chances are that Galaxy Note 3 Neo will become available for purchase only later this year, most probably in March.
