It’s time to dust off your Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (GT-N8000) tablet, if you have one. The Android 4.4.2 KitKat update has started rolling out in certain territories and so far has been spotted making an appearance in Germany.

The update comes in the form of an OTA update and is also available via Kies and will bump your device to firmware version N8000XXUDNE4.

So owners of the Galaxy Note 10.1 will be able to enjoy all the usual KitKat goodies that other tablet owners have been taking advantage of for a while now. One thing we don't know is whether the company has equipped the new build with some goodies of its own.

Anyway, those of you updating to the newest Android build, should expect to see faster performance, white status bar icons, full-screen album art on the lock screen, added wireless printing supports and most importantly improved battery life.

Of course, like any update, the new build will roll out gradually. Since Germany appears to be one of the first countries to get it, we can assume other European territories will be joining the party soon. If you haven’t received a notification OTA so far, you could go in the Setting sections and check for yourself if something is there waiting for you.
