South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics has been long rumored to plan the launch of its Galaxy J smartphone in more markets around the world soon, and some confirmation on the matter has emerged.

The smartphone, launched exclusively in Japan several months ago, is now expected to land in Taiwan on December 9, a report coming from ePrice unveils.

Samsung has already sent out invitations to a press event set to take place in the country on that day, although it did not provide specific info on which handset would be launched.

Samsung Galaxy J, a smartphone that packs features borrowed from both Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3, finally appears set to make an appearance on shelves outside Japan, as the press invites Samsung sent for the aforementioned event unveil.

To be more precise, the handset showcased on the press invitation appears to be similar with the Galaxy J, which suggests that we’re indeed looking at the same product, as SamMobile notes.

Galaxy J features a 5-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display capable of delivering a 1080p resolution, while being powered by a Snapdragon 800 processor, paired with 3GB of RAM.

The smartphone also features a 13-megapixel camera on the back, with support for full HD video recording, along with front camera for video calling.

Furthermore, it comes with 32GB of internal memory, as well as with a microSD memory card slot inside, and is powered by a 2600mAh battery. The smartphone runs under Google’s Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system right from the start.

All in all, the Galaxy J packs the hardware internals that Galaxy Note 3 landed on shelves with, but in a Galaxy S4 size, and without the S Pen.

Provided that the smartphone is indeed set to make an official appearance in Taiwan next week, we should see it landing in more markets out there soon. However, there’s no official confirmation on this available as of now, but stay tuned for more on the matter.
