Samsung Galaxy Grand series is quite successful in emerging markets, which is why the South Korean company decided to expand it even further by adding new smartphones.

The folks over at SammyHub have just been tipped on the upcoming Galaxy Grand Neo, which is likely to be revealed within the next couple of days.

According to sources close to the matter, Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo will sport a 5-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

In addition, the smartphone is said to be equipped with a 1.2 GHz quad-core A7 processor. No word on the amount of RAM and storage yet, but we suspect it will come with 1GB of RAM and around 8GB of internal memory.

The Galaxy Grand Neo will ship with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box and some of Samsung’s most popular apps and services such as Multi Window.

In the same piece of news, a certain Samsung GT-I9060 recently received FCC’s (Federal Communications Commission) approval, which coincides with the codename for Galaxy Grand Lite that leaked a while ago.

Samsung Galaxy Grand Lite’s rumored specs are similar to the Galaxy Grand Neo that’s been leaked at SammyHub, which suggests the South Korean company may launch the smartphone in different regions under different names.

It’s unclear if the handsets will get slightly different specs depending on market. We suspect at least one of these, if not both, will come with dual-SIM support, which means it will definitely go on sale in emerging markets such as India and China.

The Galaxy Grand Lite is expected to go official within the next few weeks. There’s a slight chance the smartphone will be announced next week at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2014, otherwise we might see it showcased at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014.
