Although Samsung has yet to officially confirm the Galaxy Core Prime 4G launch in India, the smartphone is already available for purchase in the country.

At least one retailer is now selling the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime 4 in India for Rs 9,999 ($155 / €145) outright, but we expect the phone's availability to expand to other major resellers across the country. Those who purchase the smartphone will also receive 3GB of free data at Airtel.

Given the low price, Android fans shouldn't expect any fancy features, as the Galaxy Core Prime 4G is a pure budget-friendly smartphone.

The only strong point of the handset would be LTE support, which is rarely included in a smartphone launched in India at this price.

It's also worth mentioning that customers in India will be able to grab the dual-SIM version of Galaxy Core Prime 4G, not the single-SIM model.

Expect a Lollipop update to arrive at some point this year

Samsung Galaxy Core Prime 4G was launched on the market back in November with Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system right out of the box.

However, the South Korea company has already confirmed the smartphone will receive an Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade sometime this year.

Hardware-wise, the Galaxy Core Prime 4G is equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, an Adreno 306 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

Although the smartphone packs only 8GB of internal memory, users will be able to expand storage up to 64GB via microSD card slot.

The budget-friendly handset also features a 5-megapixel camera in the back with autofocus, LED flash and HD (720p) video recording, as well as 2-megapixel camera for video calls.

Other highlights of the Galaxy Core Prime 4G include 2,000 mAh removable battery, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0, GPS with AGPS, Wi-Fi and FM Radio.
