We reported last week that a Samsung spokesperson confirmed that the Galaxy Beam smartphone with pico projector would arrive in India sometime in April.

However, it appears that Android enthusiasts living in the UK will be able to get their hands on the Galaxy Beam as well. The folks at Phandroid have just learned that the smartphone is now available for pre-order at Clove UK.

Customers can pre-purchase this one for no less than £455 (725 USD or 545 EUR) outright, though the official price has yet to be confirmed.

For the time being, Clove has no details regarding the availability of the Galaxy Beam, but it won’t come as a surprise if the smartphone arrives in the UK in early April.

Unlike the old Galaxy Beam announced two years ago, the new version comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system out of the box and packs a much more powerful 1.2 GHZ dual-core processor.

Obviously, the selling point of the smartphone is the built-in nHD projector, which enables users to share photos, videos or other digital media with family or friends by beaming multimedia content stored on the device directly onto walls, ceilings or other flat surfaces.

Other than that, Galaxy Beam is a pretty standard mid-range Android smartphone. The device features a large 4.0-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution and 16 million colors.

On the inside, Samsung’s smartphones packs 8GB of internal memory, 768 MB of RAM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB). There’s also a 5-megapixel camera on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and HD (720p) video recording.

On the connectivity front, the Galaxy Beam offers HSPA+ (14.4Mbps), W-Fi, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot, along with Bluetooth 3.0, microUSB and built-in GPS with A-GPS support.
