This is not the first time that we talk about Samsung Galaxy A8, one of the unannounced smartphones the South Korean company is expected to unveil soon, but it's the first time that it's approved by a regulatory commission.

The Galaxy A8 has been recently spotted at TENAA, which means that it's real beyond doubt and that it should be announced anytime now.

The good news is along with the fact that Samsung Galaxy A8 has been certified in China, we also get a glimpse at what it has to offer since some of the smartphone's specs have been listed in the filings.

For starters, the Galaxy A8 will ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system onboard, which is no wonder since Google is about to unleash Android M.

When it comes to hardware, the smartphone has been confirmed to pack an octa-core processor and although TENAA doesn't mention the chipset's model, we do know that it's Qualcomm's Snapdragon 615 SoC (system-on-chip) clocked at 1.7GHz.

Furthermore, the octa-core CPU is complemented by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

On the back, the Galaxy A8 is likely to feature a 16-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while in the front there will be a 5-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies.

We also get a confirmation on the screen, which is a 5.7-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.

Samsung Galaxy A8 measures 158 × 76.77 × 5.94 mm and weighs 142g (battery included). Speaking of which, the smartphone will be powered by a 3,050 mAh battery, which is likely to be removable.

There's no word on availability and pricing options, but we expect more details on the Galaxy A8 to emerge in the coming days.
