In addition to the recent launch of its hot on sale Samsung Galaxy S in India, the Korean handset manufacturer announced two new Galaxy devices, Samsung Galaxy 3 (I5801) and Samsung Galaxy 5 (I5503).

It seems that Samsung is taking very seriously emerging markets like India, which get a wide range of Galaxy devices, in an attempt to offer users devices that fit any budget.

The Samsung Galaxy 3 is the mid-budget version of the Galaxy S, if we can say that about a device that is powered by a 667MHz processor and runs Android 2.1 (upgradable to 2.2).

It also comes with a 3.2-inch WQVGA TFT LCD touch screen (240 x 400 pixels resolution), 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP.

The smartphone also sports a 3.0-megapixel camera with autofocus, geo-tagging, face and smile detection, music player, DNSe, DivX/Xvid playback, FM Radio, 512MB ROM, 256MB RAM (130 MB user available), built-in GPS receiver with A-GPS support, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 1GB card included) and 1500mAh Li-Ion battery.

Samsung Galaxy 5 has even lower features than its sibling, Galaxy 3, as it's powered by a 600MHz processor, and is running Android 2.1 OS.

Other key features of the smartphone include: 2.8-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen (240 x 320 pixels resolution), 2.0-megapixel camera with geo-tagging, HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, WiFi 802.11 b/g and DLNA, GPS with A-GPS support, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, FM Radio, music player, 90 MB of internal memory and microSD card slot (up to 16GB, 1 GB card included).

Both devices feature Samsung's proprietary TouchWiz 3.0 UI, as well as Layar Reality Browser, Social Hub, Allshare and Swype.

Samsung Galaxy 3 is selling for about Rs. 12,300 (approx. $265 USD), while the Galaxy 5 can be bought for Rs. 10,200 (approx. $220 USD).
