Virgin Mobile is yet another Canadian mobile phone carrier to have kicked off pre-orders for the high-end Samsung GALAXY S4 smartphone on April 15.

The operator officially announced the immediate availability of the smartphone for reservations, and also announced that it would start shipping pre-ordered units on April 27.

The handset will be available at the wireless services provider via brick and mortar stores and online on its website, as well as through The Source and by phone at 1-855-238-6847.

Virgin Mobile also confirmed that it would carry both the Black Mist and White Frost flavors of the handset, and that more color versions are expected to become available before the end of the year.

GALAXY S4 arrives on shelves with a 5-inch full HD touchscreen display, a 1.9GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, and microSD memory card slot.

Furthermore, the smartphone features a 13-megapixel rear photo snapper, front camera for video calling, LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, NFC, GPS receiver, and Google’s Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean platform loaded on top.

“Samsung is proud to bring the highly anticipated Samsung GALAXY S4 to Canadians with Virgin Mobile,” said Paul Brannen, vice president, Enterprise Business Solutions at Samsung Canada.
