Australian mobile phone carrier Telstra is set to make the Samsung GALAXY S4 Mini smartphone available for its users in the not too distant future, and it has already confirmed plans on the matter.

No specific info on when the handset will be released at the operator has been provided as of now, and details on its pricing are not available either, but all will be announced soon.

The GALAXY S4 Mini joins its bigger brother in Telstra’s lineup, bringing a slew of appealing features to the carrier’s users.

“As the name suggests the powerful 4G phone weighs just 130g with a 4.3” screen (compared the 5.0” of the Samsung GALAXY S4), meaning it will slip easily into your pocket or handbag, and sits nicely in the palm of your hand,” the carrier says.

“But just because the phone is small, it doesn’t mean it’s lacking in features or capability. The Samsung GALAXY S 4 Mini comes with a powerful 1.7GHz Dual Core processor and a range of impressive features as we’ve come to expect from the GALAXY range.”

In addition to the Snapdragon 400 processor and the qHD (540 x 960) screen, the mobile phone also features 1.5GB of RAM inside, 8GB / 16GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes.

Furthermore, it sports an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, and a 1.9MP front camera for making video calls. Running under Google’s Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS, the phone packs capabilities such as Smart Stay, Smart Pause, S Voice, S Travel, and more, as SamMobile notes.

The handset will offer support for Telstra’s 4G LTE network, while also providing users with Wi-Fi, HSPA+ and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, GPS receiver, and the benefits of a 1900mAh battery.

“The Samsung GALAXY S 4 Mini also carries Samsung’s Group Play where you can create your own surround sound system by playing the same music at the same time on up to five S 4 Minis,” the carrier announced.
