Three UK was the first carrier to confirm it would offer the newly announced Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 and Galaxy mini 2. Shortly after Three's confirmation, more UK-based carriers unveiled they would offer the Galaxy Ace 2.

According to the guys over at TechRadar, aside from Three, Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 will be available in the UK via Orange, T-Mobile and O2, as well.

While there's no word on the phone's price tag yet, we can safely assume that this mid-budget Android-powered smartphone will be offered for free on select plans from all major networks.

For the time being, Vodafone UK is the only operator that confirmed it would not carry the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2, claim sources close to the matter.

Hardware-wise, Galaxy Ace 2 is a step forward from its predecessor, as the smartphone comes with a bit more memory and a better processor. Even though the handset runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform, it's still an attractive choice for those who are looking for an affordable mid-range device.

Samsung Galaxy Ace is equipped with a dual-core processor clocked at 800 MHz and packs 4GB of internal memory, 768 MB of RAM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

The phone definitely meets the necessary requirements to receive an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade, though Samsung has yet to announce its plans for this device.

Furthermore, Galaxy Ace 2 sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash and HD (720p) video recording, as well as a secondary VGA camera for video calls.

It comes with decent 3.8-inch PLS TFT capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution, and built-in GPS receiver with A-GPS support and GLONASS.

Samsung stated that the Galaxy Ace 2 would be available in the UK starting April and would be rolled out globally soon afterwards. However, rumor has it that the handset maker might be forced to push the release of the smartphone to May.
