The Windows Phone NoDo update, or the copy&paste update, is now being rolled-out to Samsung Focus devices on AT&T's network, many months after being released on other devices out there.

Focus is the last Windows Phone to receive the update that comes from Microsoft themselves, and should taste it in a package that includes another software too, the security update that the company announced back in May.

Just as explained yesterday, owners of a Samsung Focus will be notified on the availability of a number of two updates for their devices, 7008, the predecessor of NoDo, and another update, which includes both the copy&paste (7030) and the security update (7032).

To update their devices, users will need to connect them to a Windows-powered PC. Before proceeding, make sure you read all the necessary installation instruction, so that things will go as smooth as possible.

While the delivery of NoDo to Samsung Focus marks the finalization of one update phase, other firmware upgrades might also emerge on various devices out there.

Handset vendors like Dell or HTC already announced plans to provide users with such updates, and Microsoft says that some phone specific updates will soon start to emerge on devices.

These hardware-specific updates are delivered from handset vendors, and come with various enhancements that apply only to particular devices, such as battery life, call clarity and touch responsiveness.

“These updates are designed to make specific improvements. Not every phone around the world needs the same package of improvements. In some cases no update at all is needed,” Microsoft's Eric Hautala notes in a recent blog post.

“I wanted to remind you of this because some of you will start to see these types of updates soon, and I wanted you to have a little insight into what is included. It’s all part of keeping your Windows Phone in tip-top shape.”

Specific info on these updates are not offered for the time being, but it should not be long before handset vendors make official announcements on the matter.
