It looks like a number of Windows Phone devices are now reportedly getting a software update that brings tethering functionality in the mix.

According to the guys over at WPCentral, users have just started to report that Samsung Focus, HTC Mozart and HTC HD7 phone are slated to receive this update that add the Internet sharing feature.

However, it appears that the update is rolled out in stages, so depending on the country and carrier, some users may, or may not receive the new software update.

WPCentral reports that it has received positive feedback from HTC Mozart owners with O2, One Call and Telenor branded devices. They have been able to download and install the latest software update pushed by Microsoft and mentioned that Internet sharing is now enabled.

In addition, HTC HD7 owners with O2 and T-Mobile USA logos successfully updated their devices as well, and are now able to user the tethering functionality.

The bad news is that AT&T's Samsung Focus seems to have been left out, regardless of which operating system version they run.

On the flip side, the update is confirmed as fully functional for Rogers Samsung Focus units, so Canadians can easily update their smartphones.

In other news, the HTC Titan is also getting a software update, but it doesn't seem to be related with the one that brings Internet sharing to Samsung Focus, HTC Mozart and HD7 smartphones.

Several users reported that the old firmware revision number 1600.2200.10806.401 has been replaced with the new 1600.2200.10902.401, the folks at WPCentral claim.

Furthermore, it looks like the update also updates the old bootloader version from 1.8.160015.3(132000) to 1.9.160015.3(132193).

Unfortunately, the changelog is missing as usual, but those who already updated their HTC Titan devices noticed improvements of the Wi-Fi reception.

Feel free to leave your comments if you received the software update or not, and don't forget to state your location and carrier.
